A real Rothschild - what a pleasure!
This Rothschild dates from 2011 and from the Chateau Mouton of Baron Philippe de Rothschild. The origins of this legendary winery date back to 1853. Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild buys Château Brane-Mouton in Pauillac. In 1924 Baron Philippe de Rothschild first appeared and moved the bottling of the wine into the castle and introduced the Fassreifung in his own castle cellar. But in order to be able to note his wine, he acquired a small wine shop in Paulliac nine years later. The highlight of this success but he celebrated undoubtedly in 1973 when the Mouton Cadet was included in the Premier Cru Classe. Baron Philippe de Rothschild died in 1988, and Baroness Philippine de Rothschild has since led the fate of the 90ha vineyard. The winery is located in the wine appellation Bordeaux, which represents one of the most famous and most prized wine regions in the world. This region is characterized by a mild climate due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and the numerous rivers. In summer, temperatures range between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, and rarely fall below freezing in winter.
This Rothschild is like most wines from Bordeaux a Bordeaux blend. Characteristic of these mixtures are their powerful structure and deep aromas, comparable to dark fruits such as plums or black currant. Basically conceivable are combinations of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Camenere, but usually only mixture of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is made. Likewise with this Rothschild the from Cabernet Sauvignon, for structure, Bouquet and fruit, and Merlot for roundness and fullness.
