2 stars in the Le Guide Hachette Des Vins 2001 - heaped with awards
This award is due to a large investment program of the AGF. But until then it was a long way. The Chateau Larose Trintaudon was founded in 1719 and had in 1972 about 345 hectares of vineyards. The basis for such excellent taste is of course the soil quality. The area of Trintaudon is an excellent gravel mound, so warm and therefore ideal growing conditions for late ripening Cabernet Sauvignon. The quality of this excellent wine was recognized early and the chateau was awarded gold and silver medals at the World's Fair of Bordeaux in 1882, Paris in 1889 and Amsterdam in 1884. Despite this success came in 1923 to close this glorious chateau and conversion into a dairy farm. But 40 years later, the Forner family and Prof. Emile Peynaud took over the fortunes of the chateau and revived 175 hectares of vineyards. Since 1986, the Chateau Larose Trintaudon is owned by the Alliance, which has huge financial resources. As a result, strong growth and significantly improved quality will come from this point on. Over the years, the reputation has become so good that it has earned a place among the best in Cru Bourgeois. On an annual average, 9161 hl of wine are produced, which corresponds to 1 060 000 bottles, covering a total area of 154 ha.
