Worldwide only 160 000 bottles from the heart of the Haut-Medoc
The Haut-Medoc is the top address in France for top wines. It is located in the southern part of the wine appellation Medoc and is more of a peninsula. Due to the maritime influence, the summer temperatures are between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius and in winter the temperatures rarely fall below the freezing point. Thus there are ideal conditions for late and slow-growing grape varieties. Basically accepted grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Carmenere. Bordeaux blends are usually produced in this region, ie blends of these wines, with usually only Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are blended. The same applies to this wine, which consists of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Both partners harmonize with each other almost perfectly, so that with the necessary skills - which the cellar master of Chateau Cantemerle certainly has - probably one of the best wines in the world.
For this 2013 Les Allees de Cantemerle we would
Recommend poultry or a Wagyu rib eye fillet.
