A very nice Bordeaux not easy, not very strong
The Bordeaux wine region is the world's largest continuous production area for quality wine. There are about 3000 châteaux that produce the world famous wines.
Bordeaux wines are typically cuvées of several individually vinified plots and grape varieties. The artful assemblage of the various games serves to highlight the specific character of the terroir and the wine style of the château. As a rule, there are at least two grape varieties with varying composition depending on the weather conditions of a year, often three to five, which enter into a wine. The grape varieties are never mentioned on the label of a Bordeaux, but the wine owes its reputation not least to the almost exclusive cultivation of varieties with high quality potential.
The famous red wine from Bordeaux is obtained mainly from three grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. A minor role is played by Petit Verdot and Malbec. The same applies to this wine, which consists of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. This is about the classic weighting of such Bordeaux blends. The high Cabernet Sauvignon share leads to a wonderful structure, which skilfully rounds off the lower Merlot content.
For this 2014 Virevalois we would
recommend Roast lamb or venison.
