Robert Parker is a renowned wine evaluator - his worldwide influence is undisputed. The American wine journalist is the founder of the well-known "Wine Advocate" and rated with a 100-point system, the wines tasted by him. Its evaluation scheme has had a lasting effect on the wine industry and is now being used internationally.
The reason for this top rating of this expert was that this wine is a juicy, elegant, multi-layered and dense example of the incredible terroir of La Clape. The Rhone Valley is one of the most important wine regions of France and can be divided into the southern and northern parts; Wines from the northern part are Syrah-dominated, while those from the southern part are usually mixtures, with the Grenache dominating. La Clape is one of Languedoc's first six high-quality crus - this red wine impressively shows: compact and full-bodied with hints of dark fruits, herbs and spices and strong tannins. This diversity is due to the present blend of grape varieties used, the so-called Southern Rhone Red Blend. Many varieties are permitted for such a blend, with Syrah and Grenache typically being the dominant parts.
For this 2015 Grenache Syrah we would
recommend Fried lamb crust and meatloaf Tajine.
