Silver award at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
This award was awarded to the 2013 vintage in 2015. This Grand Marrenon from Luberon consists of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache. Grenache contributes its classic bright strawberry and raspberry aromas and juicy palate, while the Syrah contributes the necessary structure and flavor. Accordingly, the flavors of this French range from stewed plums to black cherries, blueberries to black olives and dark chocolate.
Rhônetal is one of the most important wine regions of France. The wine appellation Luberon is known for its first-class white wines, which are unique compared to the others of the Rhône valley. The reason for this is that the Mediterranean climate brings long, warm days typical of the Rhône Valley. Unlike the rest of the Rhône Valley, the nights in Luberon are cooler than in most other Rhône vineyards. This higher daily temperature variation helps to create some of the crisp, interesting white wines of the Southern Rhône. All the more surprising is that this red wine has received such a distinction.
For this 2013 Grand Marrenon we would
recommended roast leg of lamb with herb salad.
