Sunny greetings from Lake Garda!
Just as sunny as the weather around Verona is, just as sunny is this Valpolicella Blend. One such blend is based on three varieties of red wine grown in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy: Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. Corvina plays the main role in this mix with 45-95% and brings in the acidity and sour cherry flavors. Corvinone, however, may max. 50% of the mixture and Rondinella only max. Make up 30% of the mixture. In addition to these three main varieties may be added to 25% still other approved varieties - including Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc - in the mixture. Not only as a rule, but also in this Jairo is a dry table wine, which consists only of the three main components, to 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% Molinara. The result is a clean, aromatic and dry red wine of ripe fruit.
For this 2012 Villa Anaberto we would
Chicken salad with pomegranate, pine nuts and raisins or Taleggio cheese with walnuts.
