"Everything out of sheer lust and passion ..."
This is how Bernd Riske describes on his homepage why he is dedicated to viticulture. In this family business, only 2.5 hectares of vineyards are managed, which are spread over ten vineyards. The best locations can be found in Dernau and Bad Neuenahr. The winery was founded by its namesake Reinhold Riske in 1957. Since 1994, it has been managed by Bernd Riske.
The Ahr is one of the least known and northernmost wine regions in Germany, but there was already cultivated in the 8th century wine. It is located immediately north of the Moselle, which would logically mean the cultivation of white wines. In fact, it is in Germany the largest closed wine-growing region for red wine. On a total of 548 hectares, 87.5% red wine and 12.5% white wine grapes are grown. The classic Ahr Pinot Noir is brick red and smells of red cherries, sweet spices, forest soil, possibly with a hint of smoky bacon.
For this 2010 Reinhold Riske we would
recommend Pappardelle pasta with a porcini mushroom ragu or roast duck breast with plum sauce.
Further consumer information according to the new food information regulation for the consumers, allergy sufferers and the Abmahnvereine:

If, due to legal regulations, one of our regulations no longer complies with the rules, the statutory provisions immediately apply, in order to put a proper stop to the usually more regular Abmahnverein.
